Epic Day Pass - Frequently Asked Questions

Now in its second year, the Epic Day Pass provides unprecedented flexibility and season pass discounts to guests with customizable access. With this pass, guests can unlock discounts of up to 50 percent off lift ticket window prices by selecting the number of days they plan to ski or ride – from one day to seven days – and whether or not to add holiday access. The Epic Day Pass provides the following access and benefits: 

Specified number of days across: Whistler Blackcomb, Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone, Crested Butte, Park City, Heavenly, Northstar, Kirkwood, Stowe, Okemo, Mount Sunapee, Stevens Pass, Mount Snow, Attitash, Wildcat, Crotched, Hunter Mountain, Liberty, Roundtop, Whitetail, Jack Frost, Big Boulder, Alpine Valley, Boston Mills, Brandywine, Mad River, Hidden Valley, Snow Creek, Paoli Peaks. 

Partner access: For guests purchasing four or more days of access, they may also use days purchased to access Telluride, Sun Valley, Snowbasin and Resorts of the Canadian Rockies. 

Guests can purchase the Epic Day Pass with or without holiday access. Guests who plan to ski or ride during peak periods, like Christmas Week, should choose to add holiday access when they purchase their Epic Day Pass. Holiday restricted dates are:

  • Friday, November 27, 2020 - Saturday, November 28, 2020 
  • Saturday, December 26, 2020 - Thursday, December 31, 2020 
  • Saturday, January 16, 2021 
  • Saturday, February 13 2021 - Sunday, February 14, 2021

If Holiday Access is not included, holiday restricted dates apply to all resorts including Telluride, Snowbasin, Sun Valley and the six (6) Resorts of the Canadian Rockies which are available on the Epic 4-Day, 5-Day, 6-Day and 7-Day passes.

First, choose the number of days you want to ski or ride, between one and seven days. Second, choose whether or not to include access during U.S. holiday periods, like Christmas week.

The Epic Pass is best for guests who want to ski and ride all season long with unlimited and unrestricted access

  • The Epic Pass offers unlimited, unrestricted access to: Whistler Blackcomb, Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone, Crested Butte, Park City, Heavenly, Northstar, Kirkwood, Stowe, Okemo, Mount Snow, Mount Sunapee, Attitash, Wildcat, Crotched, Hunter, Liberty, Roundtop, Whitetail, Jack Frost, Big Boulder, Stevens Pass, Alpine Valley, Boston Mills, Brandywine, Mad River, Hidden Valley, Snow Creek, Paoli Peaks, Afton Alps, Mt. Brighton, and Wilmot in North America. The Epic Pass also includes access to Perisher, Falls Creek, and Hotham in Australia. 
  • Limited access to partner resorts, including: seven days each at Telluride, Sun Valley, Snowbasin, and the Resorts of the Canadian Rockies; five consecutive days at Hakuba Valley’s ten ski resorts in Japan; and five consecutive days at Japan’s Rusutsu Resort. The Epic Pass also grants limited access to Les 3 Vallées in France; 4 Vallées in Switzerland; Arlberg in Austria; and Skirama Dolomiti in Italy. 

The Epic Local Pass is best for guests who want to ski and ride all season long with limited restrictions and access

  • The Epic Local Pass offers unlimited, unrestricted access to: Breckenridge, Keystone, Crested Butte, Okemo, Mount Snow, Mount Sunapee, Attitash, Wildcat, Crotched, Hunter, Liberty, Roundtop, Whitetail, Jack Frost, Big Boulder, Stevens Pass, Alpine Valley, Boston Mills, Brandywine, Mad River, Hidden Valley, Snow Creek, Paoli Peaks, Afton Alps, Mt. Brighton, and Wilmot. 
  • Unlimited access with holiday restrictions to: Park City, Heavenly, Northstar, Kirkwood and Stowe. 
  • 10 total days combined (with holiday restrictions) at: Vail, Beaver Creek, and Whistler Blackcomb. 
  • Limited access to partner resorts, including: two days (with limited holiday restrictions) at Sun Valley; two days (with limited holiday restrictions) at Snowbasin; and five total consecutive days with no blackout dates at Hakuba Valley’s ten ski resorts in Japan; and five total consecutive days with no blackout dates at Japan’s Rusutsu Resort. 

The Epic Day Pass is best for guests who know they want to ski and ride just a few days and may still need time to plan what resorts and when they plan to visit. The Epic Day Pass allows guests to save over the cost of lift tickets by choosing the pass produce in advance.

The Epic Day Pass is a non-refundable season pass product offered in advance of the season that provides a discount of up to 50% off of lift ticket window prices. The Epic Day Pass allows guests to customize their pass, choosing exactly the number of days they want, from one day to seven days, and whether or not to add holiday access. When purchased with holiday access, the Epic Day Pass allows guests to ski or ride any day(s) throughout the season and can be used at any of Vail Resorts’ North American owned and operated resorts. A lift ticket can be purchased on resort or online during the ski season, for a specified resort and number of days. 

You will not need a new access card if you are renewing for the same number of days of access. Guests who previously purchased an Epic Day Pass and now purchase an Epic Day Pass with a different number of days or without holiday access this year will receive a new card. Guests who already have a photo on file will receive their new access card in the mail.

Yes, the Epic Day Pass includes matching bonus days that can be used at Wilmot, Mt. Brighton or Afton Alps. For example the Epic 1-Day Pass, gets 1 bonus day total for use at any of the Urban Resorts. Same restrictions apply on restricted Epic Day Pass products.

Who is eligible to purchase the Epic Day Pass?

Anyone purchasing their skiing in advance of the ski season (while passes are on sale) may buy an Epic Day Pass; there are no age or geographic restrictions.

 

Does my Epic Day Pass have to be used on consecutive days or a set start date?

No, the Epic Day Pass has a preloaded amount of days to use throughout the 2020-2021 winter season. The days do not have to be used consecutively and do not have a set start date.

 

Does the Epic Day Pass receive Partner Resort access?

When purchased with four or more days, the Epic Day Pass includes access to Telluride, Sun Valley, Snowbasin and the Resorts of the Canadian Rockies as part of the total number of days included. Epic Day Passes with three or less days do not include access to partner resorts. If a restricted Epic Day pass is purchased, the same holiday restrictions apply at partner resorts.

 

Do I have the option to put $49 down in the spring?

Yes, for a limited time, guests can pay $49 down in the spring and the remaining balance will be charged in mid-September, 2020.

 

If I purchase an Epic Day Pass without holiday access, do I receive any discounts on lift tickets during holiday restricted timeframes?

Yes, guests who purchase an Epic Day Pass without holiday access and would like to ski during a holiday restricted date will receive a discounted lift ticket for additional day(s). For the best rate during restricted dates, guests should add holiday access to their Epic Day Pass when purchasing.

 

If I purchase an Epic Day Pass and use all of my days, what are my options if I want to ski more days?

Epic Day Pass holders can purchase additional lift tickets at a discounted rate for that day(s).

 

What is the refund policy for the Epic Day Pass?

The Epic Day Pass is non-transferrable and non-refundable. Insurance is available upon purchase for $27 adult ($17 child). Pass holders with insurance are eligible for a refund with a qualifying reason.

 

How does Epic Day Pass insurance work?

All pass products, including the Epic Day Pass, are non-transferrable and non-refundable. Pass refunds are available only when a guest has purchased pass insurance and has a valid claim under the insurance policy. Is the Epic Day Pass eligible for Auto Renew?

Yes, the Epic Day Pass is eligible for the Auto Renew program.

 

How does the Auto Renew program work?

Auto Renew is the most convenient way to automatically renew your Epic Day Pass every year, while guaranteeing next season’s lowest price and best benefits. When you sign up for Auto Renew with the purchase of a 2020-21 pass, your pass will automatically be renewed for the 2021-22 season. You will be charged $49 down in mid-March of 2021 and the remaining balance in mid-September 2021. Will I be able to purchase the Epic Day Pass all year?

No, the Epic Day Pass will only be sold for a limited time.

 

I have purchased my Epic Day Pass online. What happens next?

For first time Epic Day Pass holders, your pass will be mailed as soon as possible after your photo upload is accepted, reviewed, and processed. Alternatively, you may have your photo taken and pass printed in person at a season pass office.

If you renewed the same pass product, continue to use the same pass media from last season. If you purchased a different Epic pass product, a new media card will be mailed to you.

 

What happens if I do not receive my Epic Day Pass access card before the season starts?

You may pick up your Epic Day Pass access card at any Vail Resorts owned and operated resort’s Season Pass office. Please bring valid photo identification for verification. (Passes are not available for pickup at Partner resorts.)

  

What is the Turn in your Ticket Program?

If you ski on a lift ticket on or after March 3, 2020, you are eligible for the Turn In Your Ticket program. Simply apply the amount you paid for a single day's ticket toward a 2020/21 season pass! Click here for details.

Is the Epic Day Pass eligible for the Turn in your Ticket Program (TIYT)?

Yes, guests may apply the amount paid for one lift ticket toward the purchase of an Epic Day Pass with four or more days of access. Guests may not apply the cost of a ticket toward an Epic Day Pass with three or less days of access.

 

As an Epic Day Pass holder, do I receive summer benefits?

  • No, Epic Day Passes do not include summer benefits. Please see the Pass Finder for a list of passes that include summer benefits.

 

 

 

 

Does the Epic Day Pass include Buddy or Ski-With-A-Friend-Tickets?

  • No, Buddy and Ski-With-A-Friend tickets are not offered on Epic Day Pass products. To see a full list of products that include Buddy Tickets, please navigate to Pass Finder.

 

 

 

Changing or Upgrading Products:

 

If I purchased an Epic Day Pass and now want to upgrade to an Epic Pass or other season pass product, will I be allowed to switch products?

Yes. Guests are eligible to upgrade their Epic Day Pass product into an Epic Pass or other unlimited season pass products as long as passes are still on sale. Upgrades will be available at current pricing with current benefits at the time of the upgrade transaction.

 

If I purchased an Epic Day Pass with fewer than seven days and want to upgrade to add more days, am I able to do so?

Yes. Guests are eligible to upgrade their Epic Day Pass to include more days as long as passes are still on sale. Upgrades will be available at current pricing with current benefits at the time of the upgrade transaction.
