Mount Sunapee Summer Events 2011

Mount Sunapee is the place to be for summer.  Hiking is available everyday and the view from the summit is unmatched.  There are all sorts of events throughout the summer season as well.  Below is a list of the events Mount Sunapee will host this year.

May 21:  Lake Sunapee Bike Race - The longest running bike race in New England.  Sanctioned by USCF.  Contact Chris Naimie, 603-491-5223.  Register at www.bikereg.com

June 26:  Sunapee Lions Club Antique and Collectible Car and Motorcycle Show - Up to 300 cars are expected and , for the first time, there will be up to 200 motorcycles in 4 divisions.  Free aerial sky ride with paid admission.  $5 admission, 12 and under free.  $10 to enter a vehicle or cycle.  Contact Jim Currier, 603-763-9764 (jpcurrier@myfairpoint.net) or Steve White, 603-763-3111, (booboy3@myfairpoint.net) or on their web site at www.new-hampshire.com/lions.  Food and refreshments will be available from Mount Sunapee's Culinary Services.

June 26: Aerial Sky Ride - Ride the Sunapee Express chair to Mount Sunapee's 2,743' summit for a spectacular view.  10:00am - 4:30pm.  Weather permitting. Food and refreshments will be available from Mount Sunapee's Culinary Services.

June 30: Clam Bake at the Summit of Mount Sunapee – A traditional New England Clam Bake complete with littleneck clams, lobster and corn-on-the-cob. Includes round- trip transportation to the summit on the Sunapee Express Quad chairlift. Reservations: 603-763-3500. Information and menus.

July 7: Family Fun Night at the Summit of Mount Sunapee – Features fare for the whole family plus a scavenger hunt and other activities for the kids. Includes round- trip transportation to the summit on the Sunapee Express Quad chairlift. Reservations: 603-763-3500. Information and menus.

July 14: Wine Pairing at the Summit of Mount Sunapee – A variety of wines and dishes ranging from appetizer to dessert will be served tapas-style by Executive Chef Joe Cole and a Sommelier from Southern Wines & Spirits. Includes round- trip transportation to the summit on the Sunapee Express Quad chairlift. Reservations: 603-763-3500. Information and menus.

July 30-31: Aerial Sky Ride - Ride the Sunapee Express chair to Mount Sunapee's 2,743' summit for a spectacular view.  10:00am - 4:30pm.  Weather permitting. Food and refreshments will be available from Mount Sunapee's Culinary Services.

August 6-14: 78th Annual League of NH Craftsmen's Fair - Over 200 booths featuring a wide variety of fine craft by juried craftsmen. Three fine craft exhibitions (two indoor, one outdoor). Demonstrations, workshops, tours, seminars, and musical performances, including the Pousette Dart Band on Saturday, August 13. Food court. 10am – 5pm daily. $10 adults, $8 seniors, 12 and under free. 603-224-3375. Information and discounted tickets at www.nhcrafts.org. August 6-14: Aerial Sky Ride - Ride the Sunapee Express chair to Mount Sunapee's 2,743' summit for a spectacular view.  10:00am - 4:30pm.  Weather permitting. Food and refreshments will be available from Mount Sunapee's Culinary Services.

September 1: Beer Pairing at the Summit of Mount Sunapee - A variety of beers and dishes ranging from appetizer to dessert will be served tapas-style by Executive Chef Joe Cole and a Master Brewer from Harpoon Brewery. Includes round-trip transportation to the summit on the Sunapee Express Quad chairlift. Reservations: 603-763-3500. Information and menus.

September 10: 5th Annual Upper Valley Humane Society Auction – Join UVHS for this event to benefit pets of the Upper Valley and the New London/Lake Sunapee region. October 8-9: 3rd Annual Fall Foliage Pig Roast & Barbecue - Outdoor pig roast and barbecue, aerial sky rides, games & activities with prizes, pumpkin carving, live music. Fun for the whole family.  603-763-3500.
