Mountain Explorers Program (Ages 8-12)
Kids get expert, caring instruction so they learn quickly and gain confidence. Mount Sunapee features the South Peak beginner area complete with five lifts servicing 13 trails. This separate mini-mountain area is excellent for learning, allowing beginners to progress in a comfortable and relaxed environment.
Mountain Explorers is a program designed for 8-12 year olds. The program is offered either half- or full-day and comes with an all-mountain lift ticket, lesson(s) and rentals. Full-day is 4 hours of lessons (Two 2-hour sessions) and includes lunch; half-day is one 2-hour lesson.
Starting February 18 there will be a new Freeride group for Mountain Explorers, available on weekends and holdiay periods. It is for kids with advanced skiing or riding skills who are looking to learn how to safely use park features (jumps, rails, boxes) or who are interested in increasing their ability to do advanced freeride tricks on snow.
Lesson Hours:
Full-day: 10am-3pm
Half-day: 10am-12pm, 1pm-3pm
Please note: To maintain the health of our other guests and staff, we will not accept any children in the children's programs if they are showing any symptoms of the flu or sickness.
Another option is our Learning Center Season Pass. This will allow a child to visit Mount Sunapee and receive lessons (and rentals if needed) for the entire season for one flat rate.
Reservations are not required for Mountain Explorers.
If rental equipment is needed, sign up in the Rental Shop located in Spruce Lodge. Mountain Explorers who do not need rental equipment may sign up at the Learning Center.
