October 11-13, 2014 mountain bikers will have free lift access to a new downhill mountain bike trail in the Adventure Park at Mount Sunapee. The trail is approximately one mile long and is contoured with banked turns for a smooth, flowing ride to the bottom. Riders must bring a front-suspension or full-suspension mountain bike and a helmet. There are no rental bikes available. Riders need to check in at the Adventure Park Welcome Center. During the summer of 2015 Downhill Mountain Biking will be another activity offered in the Adventure Park. There will be three trails of varying degree of difficulty, full-suspension bike rentals and instruction.
The Canopy Zip-Line Tour features a series of zip-lines, rope bridges and rappelling as you descend from the top of South Peak. There are eight ziplines in total highlighted by the final 1,000’ dual ziplines to a platform behind the Welcome Center, from which you will rappel back down to earth. From the first tree platform to the last platform you will travel a distance of almost three-quaters of a mile above the forest floor. Groups zip through a canopy of oak, beech, maple, birch and evergreen trees. You'll also be able to spot native wildlife and flora on your tour. Reservations strongly recommended; walk-ins accepted if space is available. Please call 603-763-3564.
Adventurers age six and up negotiate obstacles outside that stretch from tree to tree. Obstacle activities include zip-lines, a net traverse, rickety bridges, monkey vines, a log crossing, plank bridges, rope bridges, swinging platforms and more. Everyone wears a harness and is locked onto a safety line as they make their way around the self-guided loops. Children and adults welcome!
