Newbury, NH – (March 29, 2011) – Mount Sunapee Resort is wrapping up the 2010-2011 season with a huge nine-day celebration.
Saturday and Sunday, April 2-3 is FestEVOL weekend at Mount Sunapee headlined by an O.A.R. concert under a huge performance tent on Saturday, April 2. DJ Logic and the Pete Kilpatrick Band will open for O.A.R., who have sold over a million albums and sold out venues across the country. The concert is part of the Bud Light Concert Series.
Sunday, April 3 it’s the 13th Annual Slush Cup, one of New England’s premier pond skimming events. Two hundred skiers and snowboarders will try to negotiate an 85’ pond filled with 36 degree water in one of Mount Sunapee’s most popular spring events. There are prizes for best costume, best skim, best splash and best team costume. Five dollars of every entry fee goes to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Hampshire.
Saturday and Sunday of FestEVOL weekend will feature the Reverb Eco Village. This interactive village set up on-snow includes local, regional and national environmental non-profit groups alongside alternative energy and transportation exhibits. The Eco Village also features all natural/organic food sampling and ski/snowboard equipment demos with Nordica and Burton Snowboards.
Monday through Sunday, April 4-10 Mount Sunapee is rolling back ticket prices to $36 for everyone including a 2 for 1 day on Wednesday, April 6 where two can ski or ride all day for $36 ($18 each). Thirty eight trails will be open on the Main Mountain, Sunbowl and North Peak with three lifts scheduled to operate daily including the Sunapee Express and Sunbowl quads.
Saturday, April 9 is the 20th Annual Intragalactic Cardboard Sled Race. Teams of three race intricate and professionally designed cardboard sleds down Eggbeater trail. There are prizes for best design, fastest sled and best self-destruction while on the race course. Entry fees are donated to David’s House in Lebanon, NH.
The nine days gets wrapped up with Cares & Shares Day on Sunday, April 10. Anyone who brings five non-perishable food items to the ticket window can ski or ride all day for only $30. Food is donated to local food shelters and families.
